Ludo Rules Explained
Ludo is a family dice game for two to four players. Each player has four tokens, and the first to bring all four home wins.
Setting up and moving
Each player starts with tokens in their coloured base. You usually need to roll a six to bring a token out onto the track. After that, you move it clockwise by the number you roll. A six normally gives you another turn.
Capturing and safe squares
If your token lands on a square with an opponent's token, that token goes back to its base and has to start again. Many versions have marked safe squares where tokens cannot be captured. Rules about the exact roll needed to finish vary, so check the game's own instructions.
Simple strategy
Do not rush a single token round the board; having several tokens out gives you more choices on each roll. Move a token to safety when an opponent is a few squares behind it. Capture whenever it is safe, because making a rival start again can swing the whole game.
